SITABARI FAIR |

Sitabari Fair is held in the month of October- November near Kelwara village in Baran District. Sita Bari in Kelwara village is the place where Sita-wife of lord Rama stayed during her exile period in the forest. This place have several myth related with god and goddesses. It is said that the lake in the village was created by Lakshmana-brother of lord Rama. According to the legend the stream sprouted when Lakshmana shot an arrow to fetch water for sita to quench her thirst. This stream is called 'Lakshmana Babhuka and peo ple take a holy bath to purify their soul.
People from all over the country gather to attend the Sitabari fair Rajasthan. Visitors cover thousands of kilometers distance to attend this fair. People take a holy bath and offers prayers to the deities that are beautifully decorated in the temples. Apart from the three kunds Lakshmana Kund is the biggest one. The biggest Kund is the lakshmana Kund with on of the gate called Lakshmana Darwaza where an idol of Hanamuna is erected. There is another two Kund in the Sitabari known as Bharat Kund and Sita Kund. In these two Kund people take a holy dip and offers prayers to the deity placed in the temples.
