Karni Mata fair is one of the important fairs celebrated twice in a year at Deshnok. The first fair is held in the month of March and April and the second one in the month of September-October. People wholly devote themselves singing devotional songs and prayers in Karni Mata temple in Deshnok.
According to the myth Karni Mata was an incarnation of Goddesses Durga. She was blessed with supernatural powers and she used her power to help the poor and downtrodden for their betterment. She was the tutelary Goddess to the ill-fated and the browbeaten of Bikaner. Karni Mata helped the rulers of Bikaner in establishing the kingdom of Bikaner. Since then she is worshipped as Goddesses by the rulers and her religious followers Charans. Rulers of the Bikaner worshipped her as their deity patron of the erst Bikaner Dynasty. 
The Karni Mata temple at Deshnok is structured of White marbles and stones and is also known as Madh. The temple is beautifully decorated during the festive season with glittering lights and marigold flowers. Inside the Temple there is an idol of Karni Mata adorned with valuable ornaments and Mukut. People from all over the country come to Deshnok during Rajasthan Karni Mata fair to offer prayers to the deity.
The temple is open for the people in the early morning that comes to offer their holy prayer to the deity. Priests then lights diyas, inscence sticks and sings devotional songs followed by Aaarati. People allure themselves with the chants of the priests and offer bhog or Prashad as worship. The unique feature of the temple is you will find groups of rats roaming in the temple. These rats are also worshipped and the devotees make offerings to these rats. During Karni Mata Fair Bikaner Rajasthan fair the city Bikaner is in the full swing of festive mood and gathers tourists from all over the country.
